Sewage pumps

Shipboard sewage pumps are also sometimes called dirty water pumps, gray water pumps, sewage pumps and sewage transfer pumps, drainage pumps or dewatering pumps.

Sewage pumps, as their name suggests, are used to transfer wastewater and dirty wastewater to a disposal site on ships or boats. These marine sewage pumps are mainly used to handle liquids such as dirty water and sewage. In wastewater there are often solids and therefore a sewage pump is required to treat them. Sewage pumps on ships are usually centrifugal pumps, reciprocating pumps, etc. Submersible pumps and centrifugal pumps can be equipped with additional anti-clogging impellers to allow solids to pass through the pump more easily, or can also be equipped with a large channel impeller (anti-clogging type), or a crusher propeller to grind solids into powder.

Submersible sewage pumps are commonly used on ships. This marine wastewater pump is completely submerged in water, waterproof and the impeller of this pump is anti-clogging. This type of pump can also be used as a flood control pump.

Single screw pumps are also widely used for sewage pumps on ships because they are positive displacement pumps. This type of pump is also very suitable for making slurry pumps on ships.

Sewage pumps on ships are used for a variety of purposes, including dewatering, flood control, wastewater and sludge transfer. A typical marine application is the treatment of wastewater from accommodation, usually by a special system, called a wastewater treatment plant, of which a marine wastewater pump is an important part.
